The Kingdom of Usabilia has caught The Friction.

Signs point nowhere. Shops are full, but nobody can find anything. Simple things have grown strangely hard, and people blame themselves for it, but it isn’t their fault.

You’re an apprentice Interface Guardian. Elder Lem is waiting outside.

What you’ll do

  • Help the villagers. Everyone in Usabilia is stuck on something. What they ask for isn’t always what they need.
  • Explore. Walk the village, read the signs, and find out why the old gate has stayed sealed for so long.
  • Fight what The Friction sends. Strange creatures haunt the meadow and the dungeon. Each one plays fair, if you’re paying attention.
  • Go deeper. Something below the village is making demands, and it isn’t going to stop on its own.

The twist: you upgrade the game itself

The game starts with a deliberately clumsy interface. Your bag shows items as vague codes, and there’s no map or quest tracker. Earn UI Gems by helping villagers and spend them at the Interface Shrine on:

  • Clear inventory labels
  • A quest tracker
  • A minimap
  • Foldable panels
  • Volume controls

You can switch any upgrade off again to see the difference.

Made for everyone

  • Reduced motion, large text, high contrast and longer message times are all in Settings from the very start. Accessibility is never something you pay gems for.
  • Every attack is shown on screen before it hits, with a sound too.
  • Menus work with the keyboard alone, and screen readers announce each line of dialogue in full.
  • Plays on phones and tablets with a joystick, or a D-pad if you prefer buttons.
